I’ve wanted to redo our upstairs bathroom since we bought the house. Now, 7 years later, we’re finally doing it! Here is the plan and my vision for a farmhouse bathroom renovation.
This is the only bathroom on the second floor of our house. There are three bedrooms upstairs and the bathroom. We also have a half bath Ono the main floor of the house. The upstairs bathroom has both a (small) shower stall and a soaking tub, but only a single sink vanity. Because this bathroom is shared by four people (me, hubby, and two kids), I want to maximize the storage space and make it both functional and pretty for our family. And of course give it a little farmhouse bathroom style.
Here are the things we plan to do in the bathroom:
- replace toilet
- replace outdated floor tile
- new vanity
- new faucet
- new mirror
- new vanity lighting
- new fixtures for the shower and tub
- (maybe) paint the shower and tub white
- diy shower curtain rod
- paint the trim white
- new wall paint
- paint and reorganize the linen closet
- shelf above toilet
Further down the line we need to repair the ceiling and replace the overhead light where there is some damage from a leak in the roof.

I’m going for a modern farmhouse vibe in here. White vanity, light gray countertop, black or oil rubbed bronze fixtures. I’m thinking of DIYing an industrial farmhouse shelf and an industrial curtain rod. Below are some inspiration pictures. Be sure to click through and follow these awesome farmhouse accounts!
